Who this policy is for

This Privacy Policy explains how the independent developer of FoldMan ("FoldMan," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the FoldMan iOS app or this website. It also explains the choices available to you.

Apple and RevenueCat process some information under their own terms and privacy policies. They are described below so you can see where information goes.

Information used by FoldMan

InformationWhy it is usedWhere it is kept
Settings and local playHaptics and tutorial choices, recent player setup, drawings in progress, and other state needed to run the game.On your device.
Saved gamesDrawings, creature images and names, player names, and creation dates used to show your gallery.On your device and in your private iCloud database when sync is available.
Player profileA name or nickname and optional avatar you choose, plus play counts used for your profile and free daily allowances.On your device and in your private iCloud database. Your name and avatar are copied into remote games you join.
Remote gamesAn opaque participant identifier, player profiles, drawings, game status, timestamps, and an invitation code used to coordinate turns and reveal the finished creature.In Apple CloudKit. Game records are shared with the other participants and cached on their devices.
Safety choices and reportsBlocked participant identifiers prevent future matches. A report contains the reporter and reported participant identifiers, game identifier, selected reason, and time of report.Your block list is private in your iCloud account. Reports are stored in CloudKit for review by the developer.
Purchase informationAn anonymous RevenueCat user identifier, Apple receipt and transaction information, entitlement status, and limited device and app information are used to offer, verify, and restore FoldMan's in-app purchases.Processed by Apple and RevenueCat.

FoldMan does not ask for your email address, telephone number, contacts, precise location, or a FoldMan username and password. We do not send your profile name, avatar, drawings, iCloud participant identifier, or game history to RevenueCat.

Local play and private iCloud sync

You can play locally without creating an account or sharing a game with us. FoldMan stores local settings in the app's storage. When iCloud is available, Apple CloudKit syncs your gallery, player profile, daily play counters, remote-game count, block list, and dismissed-game list through the private database associated with your Apple Account.

Private iCloud data is not visible to other FoldMan players. Apple controls the iCloud account, infrastructure, security, and regional storage used for this sync. If iCloud is unavailable, FoldMan falls back to device storage where possible.

Remote Play

Remote Play uses CloudKit rather than a FoldMan-operated account system. The host creates a shared CloudKit game. People who join can receive the profiles, drawings, and game state needed to play that game. They may retain copies on their devices or save and share the finished creature, so only share information and drawings you are comfortable giving to the other players.

To make invitation codes work between different Apple Accounts, FoldMan places a temporary invitation record in CloudKit's public database. It contains the hard-to-guess invitation code, the host's chosen name and optional avatar, the number of players, an Apple CloudKit share reference, and an expiry time. Anyone with the code can retrieve that preview. Invitations expire after 24 hours and FoldMan also attempts to remove them when they are no longer needed.

FoldMan uses Apple Push Notification service and CloudKit subscriptions to tell your device about game changes. Notification permission is optional. Apple may process a device token and delivery information as part of providing notifications; FoldMan does not operate a separate push-notification server.

Photos and avatars

If you choose a profile photo, the system photo picker gives FoldMan access only to the image you select. FoldMan crops and reduces that image for use as an avatar. The avatar is private until you host or join a remote game. It is then shared with the game's participants and may also appear in the temporary invitation preview. You can use a nickname and a non-identifying image instead.

Purchases and RevenueCat

FoldMan uses RevenueCat to display the paywall and determine whether the one-time in-app purchase is active. FoldMan does not give RevenueCat your name or iCloud identity. The RevenueCat SDK creates a random anonymous identifier and may process device type, operating system and app information, recent app activity, Apple receipt data, transactions, and entitlement status. Apple processes payment details; FoldMan and RevenueCat do not receive your full payment-card number from Apple.

RevenueCat acts as a service provider for this purchase information. Learn more inRevenueCat's Privacy Policy. App Store purchases are also governed byApple's Privacy Policy.

The website

This website does not set advertising cookies, create user accounts, or include an analytics SDK. Like most hosting providers, the infrastructure serving the site may temporarily process technical request information such as an IP address, browser type, requested page, and time of access to deliver and secure the site. Website request data is not combined with your FoldMan games or purchase record.

How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. Information is disclosed only:

  • to the other participants in a remote game, as described above;
  • to Apple for iCloud, CloudKit, notifications, App Store purchases, and related platform services;
  • to RevenueCat to provide and restore FoldMan's in-app purchases;
  • when you intentionally use the system share sheet to send a game or invitation;
  • if reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users, investigate abuse, or defend legal rights; or
  • with your direction or consent.

Retention and your choices

  • You can play locally without creating a profile or enabling notifications.
  • You can change your player name or avatar in the app.
  • You can delete saved creatures from your gallery.
  • You can leave or dismiss remote games and block a reported player.
  • You can manage notification permission in iOS Settings.
  • You can manage iCloud data and your Apple Account through Apple's settings.

Device data remains until you delete it in the app or remove the app, subject to device backups. Private synced data and remote games may remain in iCloud after the device copy is removed. Other players may keep data already shared with them. Purchase records are retained by Apple and RevenueCat as needed to provide restores, prevent fraud, keep financial records, and meet legal obligations. Reports may be kept as long as reasonably needed for safety, abuse prevention, and legal compliance.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a copy of personal information, or to object to certain processing. Because FoldMan has no account system, we may not be able to identify data held only in your private iCloud account. Contact us through theSupport page and we will explain what can be done.

Children

Local play does not require a profile. A child should use Remote Play only with a parent or guardian's involvement and only with people they know. We recommend using a nickname and a non-identifying avatar rather than a child's real name or photo. If you believe a child provided personal information improperly, contact us through theSupport page.

Security and international processing

FoldMan relies on iOS protections and encrypted network connections provided by Apple and RevenueCat. No system can guarantee absolute security. Apple and RevenueCat may process information in countries other than your own under their privacy terms and applicable legal safeguards.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when FoldMan's features or legal obligations change. The date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be presented through the app or website when appropriate.

For privacy questions or requests, contact us through theFoldMan Support page.
